Description:
Science Lab Scotch Yoko Mechanism
The Educational Scotch Yoko Mechanism mechanism demonstrates relative
motion between a crank rotation in degrees and a yoke translation in
millimeters.
This unit is an example of slider-crank mechanism, for converting the
linear motion of a slider into rotational motion or vice versa.
The rotating motion of the crank generates the alternative linear motion of the piston.
The Scotch yoke (also known as slotted link mechanism) is a
reciprocating motion mechanism, converting the linear motion of a slider
into rotational motion, or vice versa.
The piston or other reciprocating part is directly coupled to a sliding
yoke with a slot that engages a pin on the rotating part.
It is a reversible system.
